Why a Pan-African Audiovisual and Cinema Observatory?

-
African cinema and audiovisual are at a pivotal moment in their history. These industries are experiencing a phase of emergence and international influence through constantly growing diversified production. However, these sectors remain underfunded, lacking regulation and means of dissemination.
-
The cultural and creative industries as a whole, although often neglected, are a real and effective engine of growth. The employment opportunities generated by the sector are all the more crucial given that those under 25 in Africa are expected to represent 50% of the continent's population by 2050 (or 1.24 billion people).
-
In this context, the implementation of a monitoring and information tool is necessary to support production towards ever greater quality; to encourage states to develop favorable public policies and to invite public and private investors, local and foreign, to support these sectors.
